FAQs
WHAT CAN I EXPECT?
You can count on an amazing weekend with 125+ new friends! This year we'll be discovering more about the greatest HERO of all time, and understand ways we can be heroes in our own communities. You will never leave unchanged from a true encounter with the Epic HERO of history. See the Program page to see who will be speaking and what is on the schedule.
WHAT TIME IS REGISTRATION?
Registration will be Friday, February 5th, from 3:00 - 5:00 PM. Come early, register, check into your rooms, and grab some dinner with new friends and roomies! Just make sure to be back in time for our first session at 8:00 PM.
HOW DO I ROOM WITH MY FRIENDS?
Remember the song... “Make new friends, and keep the old. One is silver, the other is gold”? Well, go get some gold.
But if you absolutely have to room with your buddies, you will need to go through the on-site registration together. All hotel rooms are assigned during on-the site registration. Everyone pre-registered is guaranteed a room at the conference, and we will make every effort to give you a room with your friends. However, as more rooms are filled, it is more difficult to fill all roommate requests. Get there early for a better chance to get your roommate preferences. But really - go make new friends.
CAN I COMMUTE?
Yes, you can commute to the Epic Conference. The commuter fee is $89. If possible, stay at the hotel because there are rich opportunities to interact with other students and staff after the sessions that we wouldn’t want you to miss. And it’s a whole lot more fun if you’re around for what happens at After Hours.
WHAT ABOUT MY MEALS?
There are a lot of places to eat nearby. There are tons of restaurants a short 10 minute walk away. Some students also bring snacks and food for breakfast! If you do bring snacks, however, be prepared to share with your friendly neighborhood staff person.
IS MY REGISTRATION REFUNDABLE/TRANSFERABLE?
No, in a conference there are many financial obligations that we must fulfill ahead of time and the deposit money from the attendees is used for this. Things like reserving and paying for rooms and meeting space in the hotel, renting sound, light and other equipment for the ballroom and printing materials for the conference are all partially covered by this money. Because we base our financial projections on the amount of people who are registered, collecting the deposit shields us from greater financial risk. Thank you for understanding - so really if you’re thinking of not going, you should just go.
I DON’T HAVE TRANSPORTATION. IS THERE ANYWAY I CAN GET A RIDE?
Do you need a ride to the Epic East Coast Conference but live somewhere in the Carolinas? Ask around on Facebook to see if you can find someone else in the area or someone who could meet you along their route to the conference. Again, recruit 3 other friends to go and carpool together! If you get really stuck, email us and we'll see if we can connect you with someone in your area.
